Meet Anton Abramov, an experienced web developer and the head of OrbitMI's software development team. In his role as Front-end Lead, he continuously evolves the Orbit interface, enhancing and optimizing the user experience.
Fun facts:I hold a degree in Computer Science and bring over 13 years of experience as a professional web developer. A significant milestone in my career was in 2015 when I joined Juniqe, an art trading website, as a senior front-end developer. Within a year, we overhauled the website, which skyrocketed our annual revenue from $200,000 to nearly $4 million and further to $12 million in the following year. This achievement was the result of assembling a new front-end team, completely redesigning the platform, starting SEO efforts from the ground up, and significantly improving our key performance indicators.
Following this, in 2017, I took on the role of lead front-end developer at Akelius Residential Property AB, where I worked for more than five years. Based in Berlin and working remotely, my responsibilities included leading the front-end team, spearheading the creation of new features, conducting code reviews, and playing a pivotal role in the ongoing technological advancement of our platforms.
Eighteen months ago, I joined OrbitMI, drawn by the opportunity to leverage my extensive web development and team leadership experience in an innovative setting. I was eager to contribute to a company that's redefining maritime intelligence by challenging conventional norms.
I oversee our agile software development team, offering support and mentorship by sharing my knowledge and experience. My main responsibility involves designing the architecture of the front-end, focusing on creating robust, scalable, and user-friendly Orbit applications. I also actively participate in code reviews, promoting best practices, and implementing improvements for maintainability and performance. Beyond these technical duties, I play a key role in the maintenance and iterative development of our existing applications.
My greatest satisfaction stems from tackling complex business challenges and turning them into intuitive, scalable solutions that improve user experience and advance daily maritime operations. Each day, I am driven by the chance to work with a skilled team, exchange ideas, and explore the limits of what we can achieve with technology.
