Next up in our continuing blog series on members of the OrbitMI team is Aina Huseby, recently appointed as our Head of Customer Success. Based in her native Norway, Aina keeps tabs on the diverse needs of our regional clients and helps them use Orbit most effectively.
After graduating with a Bachelor degree in Economics from the BI Norwegian Business School, I gained a Bachelor degree in Maritime Business with Logistics from the University of Plymouth, UK (one of the best for applied shipping knowledge that is not just about reading books).
I then worked for a couple of years with Rio Tinto in London as operations officer before returning home to Norway where I was fortunate to be engaged in different roles with several shipping companies, which gave me broad experience and knowledge of the maritime industry.
While working for Western Bulk Chartering, I made the transition from operations manager to more of a technology role as business application manager, which was hard work but has proven to be one of the best decisions I have made.
After spending most of 2023 at home on maternity leave, I was ready for a fresh challenge. So, when Ali came to visit last year, it did not require much persuasion from his side to convince me that I wanted to be a part of the exciting OrbitMI journey going forward. I joined on 1 January this year and haven’t looked back because a lot of interesting things are happening!
I work closely with our customers in the Nordics to help them to maximize the benefits from using our products and gain the optimal OrbitMI experience. This entails interacting with customers, determining their needs and enabling them to increase business efficiency by accelerating decision-making through Orbit.
I enjoy problem-solving and it gives me a boost to see clients manage and take advantage of our technology. If an operator can work smarter and take better decisions because I have helped them use the tools necessary, it’s a good reason to jump out of bed in the morning!
I can’t wait to see where my future with OrbitMI will take me. What I have learned from past experience is that, as long as you are willing to adapt, the path you are on can take you as far as you want to go...
